#14 = Spiritual Perfection

perfection

In my last post, I found it very interesting that I purposely listed 14 activities that may be considered opportunities in our lives, especially if we are disorganized.  So why / how did I connect these opportunities to ”Spiritual Perfection”?  I must admit that for several moments, I wondered the same thing??  However, these  14 activities are time robbers.  Things that need to change in our lives, so that we will have the time to do other activities that would help us to create more order in our lives.  The things that we may consider small, but do matter!

In my mind, “Spiritual Perfection”, begins (or continues) when we identify our opportunities, our imperfections and allow the Lord to step in to perfect us.  Many times, we try to change things in our lives, on our own … but the Bible says His strength is made perfect in our weakness.   We can’t do it by ourselves.

The Lord will continue to perfect us until He returns … to establish His divine order for our lives as He has ordained.  But we must acknowledge our opportunities, make the time to do what needs to be done and most of all, allow Him to Order Our Steps!

9. Hunting for that one piece of paper that we need that we know was on our desk… just a second ago!

10. Looking for the other shoe, sock, earring, etc.

11. Scrambling for that last box of cornbread that we know was in the pantry.

12. Trying to find some space in our garage for our car.

13. Finding a place for one more plastic bin of stuff to put in the basement to go with the other 35 plastic bins that haven’t been opened since you moved in the house…. 8 years ago!

14. Looking for the needle in the haystack.

FOURTEEN:  7 x 2 = double measure of spiritual perfection.

Creating Order is not simply organizing stuff.[

So what does ALL of this mean?

Most of the things that impact our ability to organize are non-organizable (I don’t think that is a word :-) ) stuff…

The Major one being TiME, which is well within our control.

Knowing is half the battle!

Why Waste 30 Minutes ……

1. Watching TV

2. Watching TV

3. Watching TV - Do you see a theme? Watching TV is a good way just to unwind & not have to think.  BUT, it can soak up A LOT of our idle time!

4. Playing video games –  Yes, adults play video games, games on Facebook, games on our phones, etc. Video games can become addicting.  No Really!!

30 Minutes to be spent more wisely!

5. Checking Email – We can get sucked into endless email and before we know it, HOURS have passed.

6. Social NetworkingNo explanation required!

7. Sitting in Traffic – Yes, commuting is necessary, but have you thought about turning off the radio?  How about listening to a good book (the Bible), a training /self-improvement CD?  How about talking to our passenger or simply letting our brain REST?

8. Getting caught up in a conversation at the most un-opportune time, that goes on and on and on and on!

30 Minutes to be spent more wisely!

Any rebuttals?  ”These items are not a waste of time, but very necessary”…

Your comments are welcome!

Blog Chill Day # 17

Happy Friday!

My daughter left me a stack of old pictures on the ledge in the hall for me to peruse through this morning.  For some reason, I started to cry, BECAUSE it was so overwhelming to see just  how GOOD our life has really been.  THUS …

no regretAnd neither should you!

To All my readers, I want to apologize for not posting more often.  I am going to try real hard to get an organizing post out next week. Thanks for being so patience with me.  Have a great weekend!

Can I be Busy and still in Order?

Absolutely, Positively YES!

It all depends on how we handle BUSY

I realize that my readers are from all over the world, but where I live, Busy is our way of life.  We have a special name for Busy, we call it Multi-tasking.  It is just what we do.  It is life in constant motion…. but unfortunately, if we find that in the midst of our Busy, somewhat hectic life, we are stressed, never really accomplishing what we really need to get done and we can never find time to simply RELAXwe are Out of Order!

When we can find moments of Peace throughout the day, we can prioritize our tasks so that we get the important stuff done and we feel good because  we have accomplished something!  We are able to check off items from our To Do list.  We should take a few moments at the end of our day to prepare for the major tasks that must be completed the next day.  That’s Order!  Although in our area, we still have to fight traffic to get home, but we must find a way to leave our frustration in the car.  Take a moment to breathe and prepare to spend time with the family.

For many, the day doesn’t end when we get home… there is more work to be done.  HOWEVER, everyone has to part a play.  There has to be a plan and there must be organization and Order in the home.  There should be a place for everything and everything must have its place!  Now is not the time to start hunting in the pantry for what we are going to have for dinner or to find out that there is no milk left for cereal… :-(
